Hi, i used to live on Smith street until i moved to Canada in 1990. I remember the street and I'm sure it hasn't changed much but I am curious about the field area that sort of surrounds the top half of Smith street. It was in the process of being built on, i was wondering what it all looks like now?? Can someone possibly take some photos? Also there was a great big oak tree behind number 21 where my best friend Vicky Slater lived. Does anyone know if it's still there? I hope so and I wonder too if that bra is still hanging off it

I had a friend from school who lived at the top left hand side of Smith Street her name was Elaine Watson (I think) she had long ginger hair and her mum was a weaver at Bancroft Mill. She went to Church School and then to West Craven also a lad by the name of Andrew Fox also lived on Smith Street, I think his mum was called Jenny. We all went to school together.

Jenny lived two doors down from us.Next door to Bill and Phillis... I lived at #20. I remember Andrew. We didn't see much of him though and i was just little then. I think he used to hang out with my uncle Shawn. I believe Jenny still lives there.

I also used to live on Smith Street and remember Jenny Fox very well, in fact I was talking to her just before Xmas, when she attended my mothers funeral. Andrew was about the same age as my brother.

her mother would be Phyllis, one of my favourite weavers.

Yes, it's all built on now but Smith Street is still a cul de sac.

Nice picture of number 21. When we first moved up to Smith Street an old lady by the name of Edmonson lived there, I don't remenber her first name but I believe her husband's name was Ned.

I don't mean to be a pain but I think Sarah (smason) was looking for a picture of the area between Colne Road and Smith Street, the area we would see from our back yard (looking North), around where Hartley Street used to be. It would be nice to see what it looks like now.
