There is the agenda for the 4th Jan 2012 meeting of the Town Council up on the notice board near the co-op. There seem to be quite a few items up for discussion, but I cannot find a copy on the internet so working from memory.
One item is the consideration of a weekly market.
Is this proposed outside / open ( If so , where ? ) , if on Town Square this could preclude the use of the area through the year by ad hoc arrangements which seem to have worked well in 2011. If Inside again where ? theres not much free space in Town ( Rainhall Centre, Town Hall and Pensioners Centre are perhaps a few areas ). In some respects this proposal amongst regular , rate paying , permanent traders could be as welcome as Tesco.

West Craven Committee 3rd January 2012
REGENERATION SERVICES
PLANNING AND BUILDING CONTROL MANAGER

This is written in council speak , my interest is that the building could be of interest to a project that I have in mind , ( but have zero funds for ) . I guessed that the coach house was owned by the Solictors , part of the area is used for parking and it seems to the rear when I took a look some small scale engineering is occuring , but as the report says no expenditure is going on to make the property of a decent standard , but its certainly not falling down or a danger to adjoining properties or passers by at the present time. It could make quite a nice little residential pied-a-terre, or commercial office / proper live work unit.

It is indeed the old railway sidings. There were a number of articles in the local press about it.

It doesn't matter who you vote for, you always end up with the government. |
