I went up Letcliffe today in the sunshine with the birds singing and only a light breeze from the NW to spoil things so I decided you were right and it's probably about time we started to be optimistic.  However.....  have you seen the forecast for Easter?

Glorious day here today (19C), doesn't sound very high, but it was actually very warm, especially after winters chilly days.  It's 4.30pm and the skies have just turned from bright blue to pale blue (bit chilly now.)  Same tomorrow, but with showers for evening.

Yesterday in Yorkshire it was lovely and sunny - here the wind has risen and the rain is coming down - just as forecast.

Up in the clouds here this morning. Top to toe waterproofing to walk the dog up the lane for the milk. The fields are too wet to walk in. Wish I'd worn my gloves, there is a bitter NE wind bringing the rain.

10.00am in Somerset and it's raining horizontally. A south wind is gusting like mad and the trees are having a difficult time. The weather forecast seemed to say this weather is heading towards Barlick.

Been to the gym, altering some tousers and going to a watercolour group. All this may prevent me looking out of the window

You were right Tizer.....  we are forecast to have more heavy rain any time now.  Here's Butts Beck after a day of constant brain.  The ground can't take any more and anything that falls now will come straight off the moor.  If I was living in Lane Bottoms I'd be looking to my drains.......

We have come off relatively lightly I would say. Torrential rain when I have to get out of the van, calming as soon as I get in. Someone's got it in for me!

Marilyn and David have left Wales and spent 6hrs driving to Dorset in
heavy rain, fog and dark skies.  The weather and lack of internet availability are proving to be quite frustrating for them (and getting lost on country roads - but I'll leave the stories for Marilyn to tell you all when they return home).  Her emails to me are done in drafts, then sent whenever possible.  They are fine, doing well, and enjoying their holiday.

Pendle Water is rushing a torrent through Barrowford and Nelson. Radio Lancs forecasts some dry spells with possibly with some sun, spaced with periods of rain - some of which may be heavy - that's what I call covering all the bases. Nolic

PS Heavy rain since before 4.30am.
