Well, the Q.M 2 is certainly showing a strong prescence in the V.Islands. She has been in and out of both the U.S. and British Virgin Islands. She creates a great deal of employment for the locals. Her average passenger size for the last four weeks has been well over 3000. Long may it continue. Nedloyyd (German/Dutch) are attempting to get in on the act. However, they are having problems in that they are docking in ports with a high crime rate. Unfortunately some of their passengers are being robbed in broad daylight, by the local yardys. Sad really, these cruise ships bring in a great deal of well needed cash. Hope all is well back home in Blighty.

Hello Robert.... It all depends what you mean by all right. The politicians are acting the goat as usual. Energy prices rising with a bang. Cold, lousy and wet weather, sleet today. I think you're better off in the Virgin Islands at the moment. We'll let you know when it's safe to come back!

I hope so Stanley. It really is good to see the flag being shown down here. Unfortunately, only the engineer and deck officers are Brits. The remainder of the crew are either Phillipino, or Indian/Asian. I suppose even Cunard have to keep cost,s down.
They also keep me in a job. The channels have to be dredged daily for them to access the deepwater berths.

Only just picked up on this. Queens in the RN was the Rum left in the Fanny after everyone had, had their tot !!!! Now that is a little more for google to pick up on. Only sippers on Queens whoo be tide anyone who took a gulppers on Queens unless he was a guest..

Its like I said to Stanley, they have floating Gin palaces down here. The Sun Princess (owned by the guy that owns Oracle) is up for sale at an asking price of $250,000,000 (two hundred and fifty million dollars. Any takers? She can carry in excess of two hundred and fifty guests, and is a snip at the price. She cost over three hundred million to build less than a year ago.
Makes you think dosnt it?

I was listening to a programme on Rover Pilots on R4 and they were saying when they brought to big bulk carriers into Teeside up the Wear they only had about 6 feet under the keel.

qm2 is tug assisted because her drives are exterior to the ship. qe2 and victoria is 4 feet at low tide.
