I went up Letcliffe today in the sunshine with the birds singing and only a light breeze from the NW to spoil things so I decided you were right and it's probably about time we started to be optimistic. However..... have you seen the forecast for Easter?

Got all me boots out yesterday and polished them. Can't be going round in sunny weather without shiny boots! The brown ones look like conkers. Another nice day in the offing.......

Very warm again but a bit heavy - just had a few spits of rain here in Burnley, but the sun is out now.

Warm weather is doing wonders for the herbs in the front garden and the faster the weeds try to grow, the faster the weedkiller works. Very satisfying......

Stop worrying about how long it will last. Just get out there and enjoy it.

My weeds are growing so fast I swear I can see them coming up....it is 22 degrees and throwing it down. In a few moments the sun will shine and i will put the washing out again....then in half an hour we will run out and bring it all in again dry as it starts to rain again. Never mind it is keeping Mick on his toes.

It is a smashing day outside today. We went to a non-local inn last night (designated driver etc.) and had a lovely evening sitting outside until those with thin blood wanted to go in at 22.00. Looks like being a similar day today.

Clouded over after a lovely early morning - had a light shower - typical as I had just washed a rather heavy bedspread.

Few thundery drops here from a heavy sky but nothing to get excited about. We could do with a shower for the gardens....

We had a few heavy ones on Saturday but it soon dried up - feels slightly fresher this morning. Keep hoping to hear a cuckoo on our morning walk - but so far no luck. Last I heard was in Gloucestershire about 3 years ago.

Cuckoos are on the decline according to RSPB. Birds singing on Letcliffe and the trees look wonderful. No set back this year and they are beautiful. Chestnut flowers almost ready to burst open. Copper Beech going through their green phase. Wonderful time of the year. Weeds in herb garden slowly fading away. One dandelion with a root evidently ten yards deep has been fighting back but I've got it now I think.

Just back from a very plesant weekend at Cullen, famous for the dish Cullen Skink. Nice caravan site with excellent views out to the North Sea. A little harr but quite warm when the Sun managed to break through. Only problems at this time of the year is why do the birds wake at 0415 every morning ?? which I wouldn't mind, but why do they want to wake me !!!!!!!!
pleasant even
