We are expecting 25C tomorrow, apparently this will be the highest temp (in Adelaide) for early August on record.

Glass steady on 29.2" Overcast, warm no wind. Two days on the trot I've walked up to Letcliffe in a tee shirt and had occasional light spatters of rain. Weird.....

Nice day yesterday, no rain spatters and it got warm. Glass fallen to 29.1" Could be a bit fresher?

Good day in Barlick apart from heavy rain late morning, light showers later in the evening. Glass is steady on 29.1", grey and cloudy. It's rained in the night but the flags are dry at the moment. Could be worse.

Bit of mizzle here Comrade but I went down to the butchers in shirt sleeves wearing a Dry'z a Bone waistcoat I bought in Oz. Keeps your back dry if there is a shower. Ideal for today's weather. Enjoy Exmoor..... and give my love to Herindoors!

Very cool here today. Have the heater on this evening for the first time in a couple of weeks.

My daughter is home after her holiday in Darwin.  She was relating to me the story of her friends reaching Kakadu and after doing some sight-seeing etc., everyone got in their vehicles and started to head back to base.   My daughters vehicle was leading the way with what they thought was their friends following, they stopped one and a half hours later and found it wasn't their friends following them but some other people in the same type of vehicle.   So they had to back-track, (there's no mobile phone coverage up there) and found their friends in a state of real upset, it turns out that they couldn't find their car keys.  Everyone unloaded each vehicle and went thru all their gear, but to no evail.  Eventually after 600k's of driving everyone was relayed home and they arranged for another set of keys to be sent from the hire firm in Queensland .   Then back up next day to retrieve the vehicle.  She said that when they arrived home and settled down, they all cried because of how frightening and stressful the day had been.  We hear so many stories of  people going missing  or coming up against problems in these remote area's.  Anyway to top it all off the only thing they could think of was that a crow took the car keys, apparently there were a lot of them hanging around when they were eating and afterwards finished off their leftovers.   Needless to say I'm must glad she is home.

Cath, moral of the story, never leave your keys laid about! Take care of them.

Heavy showers yesterday including thunder around noon. Power knocked out by one strike. Jack and I got two dry walks in, timed the Letcliffe walk nicely!  Glass down at 28.7", could be more heavy showers.

Glass up to 29.2". Clear and dry outside with a dewfall but tending to cloud over a bit. Looks like a slight improvement but not summer!

Just back from the walk. Clear sky, sun rising and a cool fresh morning.
