I think people are having difficulty accessing the LTP.  Type this address into the Explorer bar

http://www.oneguyfrombarlick.co.uk/ltp/default.htm

and you will find it takes you to the LTP home page.

Stanley I just clicked the above link and it is rendering properly.

I clicked on 'additional info' and there was obviously supposed to be a few more links there but they disappear behind a 'line'. Hard to describe.

I was going to link to it from the Briercliffe forum.

This is what I see, some of the text is slipping behind the line after clicking the "LTP Additional Info page". It gets worse if I click one of these links shown here.

This mornings Nelson Leader has a letter from Ron Frethy asking for people who worked in the mills and support engineering firms to contact him with their memories so he can write a book. Says there' s plenty of statistical information about the cotton industry but nothing  about the experiences of people who worked  there.
Perhaps he needs telling about your LTP Stanley.

I saw it and considered alerting him but let's face it, if he's researching cotton workers and doesn't find the LTP he isn't much cop is he?

Stanley - the link to the home page works, but nothing else does when I am using my usual Internet Explorer.   I changed to Opera browser - which I do for some sites, as it seems to faster -  and all the links at the top of the home page then work.

Later that day........
It occurs to me that in the years I have been on here, and aware of this project, I've  probably have never actually read it in any depth.  I do recall though, downloading a load of photos though, onto another desktop computer a long time ago so maybe it worked for me  then.
Is it possible that a lot of the views which you think you have had, in fact have not got beyond the home page?  From above  it seems I'm not alone in this problem.

Further thought - do you still have the original tapes, and is there any way the audio could be made accessible?  The accent and dialect would be of equal interest to the content. (To me anyway).

See other topic for the tapes. I can't comment on why the LTP isn't working on particular browsers. All I can say is that it's all there on Firefox. Perhaps this is another example of why we need to change platforms....

It just struck me that if anyone was interested in converting the LTP tapes I reckon the NW Sound Archive at Clitheroe Castle would be delighted to hear from you!
