A chap i work with once let the door of the gondola go and it hit Berty Bird on the nose. My mate thought his p45 was on its way but Bert just shrugged his shoulders and it went no further. R.I.P Berty Bird

Bob, thanks for that. The name rang a bell but wasn't familiar. Nice clipping, I wonder whether the galleon survived?

It'd be nice to see a 'before' picture of a drunken galleon.

Rob, re- Boddies chimney. iv'e sent  Pat Carney, the leader of manchester city council .a strong Email why have they let one of manchesters oldest Historic land marks get smashed to bits.  i think he's got a lot to answer for.  ps. 50ft up from the base theirs a nice terracotta panel reading " AUGUST 1818"  in Art  nouveau script. im going to see if i can have it. before it ends up in a skip.

In response to Bob Hulin above,
No offence, but good luck with that one. You may be fortunate enough to get a reply, but I bet they will have more reasons to demolish Bods chimney than preserve it.
Having said that they did promise it would be preserved. Then again once your elected it seems that it dosnt matter what principles you were elected on. Both councillors and the voters have very short memories. Or so it would appear.
