Aye, she's another one with so called art, Belle.

Does anyone know of any decent art shops over this way, I normally use Loxley Canvas board for the oil painting and have been getting them from the SAA website.
Tried to order some last night but they tell me that they have given over stocking them.
I think Ken Bromley has them in  but could do with locating somwhere in the Burnley pendle areas..

Thanks Nolic, will have a look, the loxley boards are very rigid and thick, I ordered some bigger boards the other week from the SAA by Daler and they wetren't a patch on the loxley, they were very thin and flexible card.
The SAA are now stocking their own cheap brand, Paperweave, which may well be ok,

Is that Range, Moh, they have a fantastic selection of stuff though their canvas boards are not that cheap.

I normally get my oil paints from the store in Rochdale, but Nolic pushed me in the direction of Ken Bromley store at Bolton where they had an excellent deal on the WN Oils.

Not started my first attempt at a still life yet, I have been busy getting some paintings done for the Rammy Artweek.

I like Range, as it is near me, frequent visits gives me an opportunity to grab the occasional bargains

All for a good cause, Belle, http://www.buryandramsbottomartweek.co.uk/

It seems that the deadline for entries has been extended, just hope that the event is a success, it must be very difficult to get this type of event up and running particularly on the scale that the website suggests.

This is anew venture for me. This watercolour is taken from a photograph we took last October in Rochefort en Terre. Brittany. It has taken me a long time to do as first I drew a careful drawing. Not all the picture is in this photo as it was too big to scan . A few climbing plants are missing on the left hand side.
 Anyway here it is

Like the stonework, I much prefer strong water colour than the washes that it is more commonly used for.
