An extremely cold night I think, the bedroom windows had full condensation on for the first time, and the car took a lot of thawing out. It is a beautiful day though with wall to wall blue sky. Looking over Burnley, as we do, it is possible to see the air pollution like a brown haze hanging over the town, imagine what it must have been like before the smokeless zones were introduced.

Even colder last night Moh. Dry hard frost, 30" on the glass. Another good walking day as long as you wrap up!

Our glass is now 33 - a repeat day of yesterday. The planes are all leaving clear lines criss crossing the sky.

Glass still high at 30" but no frost. Wind seems to be NW with broken cloud. No big change I think but at least we save a bit on gas bills.

Not as hot as it has been, but still uncomfortably warm, and it is difficult to sleep at night. Green Waste day tomorrow, so I have donned the sunhat and gardening gloves to 'dead-head' the Roses and trim a few things before putting the bin kerbside. Peaches are all finished now (I ate most of those!) and the Oranges are almost the size of tennis balls...though still green. Mandarins are much smaller. Wisteria is going a mile-a-minute and Febby has installed robust stainless steel cables for it to enjoy itself. The Impatiens are having a second round of flowering. Garden looks quite good. I painted the rendered trims on the front of our house...which has resulted in a very 'Art Deco' look. (Love it...very striking). Thought I'd be very brave and do the trims BLACK. Couldn't be more pleased with it. Due to the heat, it took me about four days to paint all that. I was up that ladder by 7am, paintbrush in hand....but often had to abandon the effort by 10.30am due to the heat. No good when the paint turns to traycle and dries on the brush!

Maz, talked to grand daughter Laura in Perth yesterday and she said it was protty good weather there but a bit hot. Here in Barlick we had a grey overcast day and it looks the same today. Glass still high (30") and broken cloud from the north at the moment. A slight frost.
Maz. on a different note, I think we once had a discussion about 'Cillit Bang!' cleaner. Saw a mention last night that the CEO Beck is on £94million a year. The adverisements must be working!

And what would I be needing this Cillit Bang cleaner for, Stanley? (Are you suggesting I need to do some cleaning?) I do recall having discussions about cleaners...but don't recall that exact product.
We have dreadful trouble cleaning our kitchen cupboard door fronts...have tried everything! The only thing that works for them....believe it or not....is laundry pre-wash stain remover called Orange Power (smells like oranges). Febby grabbed it by mistake one day (result of not having his goggles on) and he now swears by it. I keep waiting for the cupboard doors to turn to dust or develop pock marks or start to fizz and disintegrate...but so far, all ok.
Ahh...just had that memory recall, Stanley. Yes...that is the stuff you lot call BANG and here it is called BAM. yes...I recall it in full now. That was great stuff when I had an older home with older surfaces...

Those micro fibre cloths clean a lot of surfaces that used to be a problem to clean..stainless steel etc. they are so quick and easy.
