Welsh sausages, jersey potatoes and mashed sweet potato & squash tonight, topped off with a red wine & shallot sauce. (They have some lovely different things in Waitrose.) It is the only Waitrose in N. Wales they said - wonder if they opened for the royals on Anglesey??

Finished the last of my breast of hogget in a butty. I was very naughty and also had scones with fruit conserve on them (blackcurrant) No sugar used to make the conserve but of course still naturally high in fructose. Never mind, I enjoyed them!

Bloody pensioners gallivanting round....
All in cooking yesterday. PC'd a blade of hogget, picked the meat off the bone and pressed it, separated fat and into deep fryer, made veggie soup. Nowt wasted only the fat off the meat.

Heavy weekend Brad?
Had treat for breakfast yesterday. A 400 gramme pot of extremely expensive Wild Boar Pate. Had it on a slice of toast for brekkers. Nearly £3 a pot! Never mind it was very good and enough for another slice this morning.

I have heard that if you spread pate on steak before cooking it, the result is very nice. Can't say I have tried it, as I don't eat red meat, but son loves his steak with Green Peppercorn Pate spread over it prior to grilling. I am a 'sixes and sevens' as to what to do for evening meal. i've been a bit off my food for a couple of days, so nothing is driving me to get in that kitchen and cook. Febby has headed out to the football this afternoon and I expect he will be in need of something hot by the time he walks back in the door. After much swinging on the freezer door, I have taken out some small party pies. A dreadful choice I know (I can hardly look at them sat on the plate defrosting and I certainly have no desire to eat them)...but at least they will warm him through. (Ate out at a pub on Thursday night and my tummy hasn't been itself since. Should pass soon (put it this way...everything else has!)
