No choritzo - just roasted in the oven drizzled with oil and cajun spice. Cottage pie tonight made with corned beef - fry the onions until caramelized, add the diced corned beef and fry until slightly crisped, put in dish, top with mashed potatoes and sprinkle with grated cheese. If eating right away put under grill to brown - I make earlier in the day and put in the oven to brown -sooooo tasty!!

I'm holding steady at 189lbs. I'm officially obese but what the BMI index misses is that I have very short legs! David Moore and I walked into the Plaza in NY one day at teatime and ordered fish and chips. We got it!
Today's tea depends on visit to butcher. I am fancying the Ian route, comfort food. Sausage and mash with peas I think.

Fresh Scottish mussels are on special offer in Morrisons. Garlic, black pepper, largle glug of extra dry martini and a good splash of double cream. Lots of fresh bread for dunking. Could well be on for Saturday night.
Good sociable food...

I was thinking about what Belle wrote when I was cooking the meal - I should point out I put the minimum amount of olive oil in the pan and the natural sugar and water in the onions caramelize them and the corned beef crisps in its own fat. Haddock tonight.

Spicy roast duck - rub chinese five spice all over skin and sprinkle with sea salt. Cook for 3 hours att 160 degrees, tuning oven up to 220 for last 15 minutes to crisp skin (fat will need pouring off a couple of times.) rest for 15 minutes. Serving with potatoes & broccoli.
