Hello OGFB Members - I've never fished the length of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal from the Double Arch Bridge at West Marton to the Foulridge Tunnel. Are there any local anglers in Barlick active on the OGFB web site who might advise me? Are there any other 'hot spots' in the area? Does the canal fishing come under Northern Anglers or Marsden Star?
Forgive me if this posting is of little interest to most members. By way of explanation I left the Craven area almost 30 years ago to go into the Navy and ended up working 'down south' thereafter. Despite the continuing need to 'earn a crust' in the benighted south my wife and I were blessed with the opportunity to purchase a house in the Barlick area two years ago, and renovations are fast reaching the point where I can anticipate indulging myself with a little leisure time..........Its been a long journey to get so close to where I started off from, but I am indeed 'homeward bound' and a happier man for it!!

I had a funny turn there for a minute! I thought it was The Keepar of the Scrolls that was going fishing..... I have nothing against fishing but it might have cut down on his site maintenance time.

I have never been one for fishing but I have been told that near to the Ouzaldale Foundry is a good spot in the winter as there is a water inlet there which puts warm water into the canal, also near to Silentnight seems to be a popular spot for Fisherman when I walk the dogs.

The reeds area behind Silentnight is known through the north as"Stick Ups". All the stretch from there to Coates Mill has good hotspots. Generally you can go anywhere on the cut nowadays and catch fish far better than when I was a kid. Nolic
