Connor, I was lucky enough to be guided ny good man when I started snapping and one of the best aids to making sure you got composition right was one of the old Nikon cameras (others as well but I used the Nikons and Leicas) The beauty of the Nikon F was that what you saw in the viewfinder was exactly what was on the negative. Try taking a picture of a standard format photo with your camera making sure that it exactly fits the viewfinder and then print the pic. I think you'll find that your camera has captured more than the pic. If you want to train your eye to compose accurately you need to be aware of that.

Conty...what you are dealing with here is very nice photo anoraks.. for the likes of you and me, who use our untrained eye to see if a pic is pleasing or not, they are 100% fantastic....and even the anoraks agree they are good, they just can't help pointing out that to their very trained eye (one could argue overtrained :)) there is a SLIGHT discrepancy....bit like standing in the station watching breathlessly as the Orient express comes soaring past and someone beside you mutters... the paint on the undercarriage is a shade deeper than the original!!

Belle, can I be an anorak and a train spotter too please? Do I get a badge. Two badges perhaps?! I'll make them out of crown caps - remember how we used to take the cork circle out, put the metal cap on the outside of your jumper and press the cork back in on the inside?

Oh no i am not denigrating train spotters at all, each to their own....as someone whose most treasured posession is a boxed set of 'the Prisoner' i can all to easily empathise with them.

you lot sound like my class mates LOL
thought you might like to know, alls good with the hip flexer. ive just done my first competition doing a full spin and it didnt hurt at all and i won two gold medals one for shot and one for discus. so i am keeping the title of Avon County Champion. i cant stop smiling!!! good job the braces are off LOL

Hey Conor , there's a lot of fun going on here !
I learned to dance the Morris in the Thames Valley in the mid 70's , and as a part of my (learning) progression through the traditions of English Folk Music it was a wonderful time.....
Let me tell you that there is nothing sissy or soft about proper Morris....it has it's roots in Paganism and is very hard work......(and a bit dangerous too.....we used to REALLY belt those sticks , and if the end brakes off or you get hit on the knuckles by a learner ,it bloody well hurts)
Some of my best memories of more than two decades in the Thames Valley are to do with the music, locations, the friendship ..and the ale.
I was a musician and dancer ,so I didn't get as fit as some ....but I got more time to drink the free beer!
Only people who have never done it think it's a bit .......well you know......
PS.... Morris has been given a bit of a bad press because of half hearted attemps to "revive the tradition" . It's worth bearing in mind, that the places in Cotswold Morris sides were handed down from Father to Son , and even so,.....if you weren't good enough , you didn't get in!
