What a brilliant site this is, one man's life work. An absolute masterpiece. There are books printed with some of his photographs in them but this incorporates so much. We found this when we were looking for some of Steve's relatives, the Germans bombed their parish church (St Michael at Thorn) in WWII but thanks to this man we have pictures before and after. Off the top of my head they were the Beiderbek bombings and I have something in my head about an A to Z book guiding them. I shall have to check now!!!
Anyway do go to this site and just enjoy what one man can do.

A great site Julie - and the hand-drawn and coloured maps are wonderful, so much more fun than the usual maps. Hand-drawn pictures are often more useful than photos. We've usually found that the hand-drawn plants in older floras are better for identification than the newer ones with photos. Hand drawing allows you to emphasise the more important characteristics.

Sorry Baedeker Blitz was the story behind Norwich getting bombed in WWII, got confused with Bix Beiderbek I think. Oh and the Beiderbek Affair - good tele series a while ago. Given more time I would have probably got Desmond Dekker in there as well!
Lead me away to a quiet room.....
