..my other big problem started about 2 months ago when I got the new windows I had been promising myself for ever and a day.

All the edging round the windows needed doing and as the pasterer came to visit and agreed a price, I started packing things up and moving things out.

Well, while he was here he might aswell dry line the "outer" walls of my house to improve the heat retention.  Hhhmm, the ceiling in both bedrooms was about to come down so re-board those - don't think they had been done since the house was built 100 years ago.

Some of the walls looked like they were due to fall off the brick work, so while you are here and I have cleared out the furniture..........................

That carpet needed replacing anyway, so new flooring.

I haven't one room which hasn't been replastered in some shape or form.  It is brilliant !!

But how do you get rid of the plaster dust which lurks in the air until you have cleaned and then settles and everything I have just cleaned is full of dust again.

My kitchen is like Widow Twanky's laundry.  But looking on the bright side, at least it didn't rain so I could hang the washing out.

Now, if I can only get to my cooker, I can have something to eat - frozen chips anyone? Laughing

Time, that is the answer having been there myself. Depending on the type of vacuum cleaner you have, it may well be chucking almost as much fine dust out the back of it as it sucks up so consider whether mopping up is a good option, although that will take several goes as you disperse the plaster around the room.

Got a Dyson Julie and washed the filter only the other day.

I was hoping for a "magic" answer - guess there isn't one and I will just have to be patient.

Looking on the bright side, it is done now and I won't have to worry about it for years to come.  And hopefully, this winter will see me warm for my money.

Anni its probably too late for you now, but before you put furnishings back into a room spray a fine mist of water around. The water droplets settle the dust and bring it down. You can then sweep up using even more water to stop the dust flying again!

Thanks Wendy - I'll give it a try - it isn't too late because I do a bit and then go back to trying to sort out the computer and then go to the airport to pick the pampered pooches sitter up.  She will be pleased to see him - has more routine with him Laughing
