I went up Letcliffe today in the sunshine with the birds singing and only a light breeze from the NW to spoil things so I decided you were right and it's probably about time we started to be optimistic. However..... have you seen the forecast for Easter?

Biting wind on the walk back from the marina this evening. Got to go to Padiham in the morning, appalling state of affairs having to go to work on a Saturday. Will be interesting to see what the wind blows in for the morning. Gritters are out and about this evening..........

Odd flake of snow in the wind from 23:00 last night. Same this morning but no quantity. Biting cold east wind and definitely not a day for holidaying! I don't think there is any quantity of snow about, cloud not heavy enough, it's all getting dropped over in the east. I'll bet Frank is up to his oxters in Aberdeen.

Meanwhile we are still bathed in glorious sunshine (minus the heatwave we have just survived, which is being cast a a 'once in 3000 year event.) Febby and I have been gardening....what little garden we currently possess! I've planted two flowering creepers to grow up the new wrought iron front fence and Febby has given the lawns an extra (extra!) short haircut. Iv'e also weeded the council strip and transplanted plugs of lawn to the bare spots, while Febby painted the new letterbox pillar to match the house. We worked up quite a sweat between us. Oh....and everything got some 'blood and bone'. Just need the rain now.....please...

Same in Barlick Comrade. Thawing fast though and slushy underfoot. Tell Dan he's better off in bed with a good book!

His match was called off at 8.00am. Now both Char and Dan have no need to get up at all. First Sunday for yonks for her to have a bit of a lie in and she's up just after me at 7.00. Any other day and I'd be dragging him out of bed but no, a bit of snow and the world's a different place ----and the sledge got thrown years ago and no, I will not go to Asda to see if they have any AND I DON'T KNOW WHERE YOUR WELLIES ARE. And yes I was shouting. Nolic

Same in Burnley - back garden looked like a winter wonderland at 8AM. It was our golden wedding yesterday glad it didn't snow 50 years ago.

Even close to 3" in Robin Hood County @ 06.00 thawing fast by 07.30 - strange for the only snowfall of the winter not to arrive until the second day of Spring.
