As there seems to be quite a bit of artistic talent around here, I thought I would start a pencil sketch section .....

Meg,nice drawing of Sean Bean, you can tell who it is,keep at it,your dads getting as good as you,Wink.....

Nice one Conty, see you give your mum the big eyes like the other drawings, you should make it your trade mark, they look very good, you should have done the same with your headmaster,he deffinately looks like a teacher and is brilliantly drawn...

Conty, brilliant work and you definitely have a talent.  I get nearer to sitting down with a sketch pad and seeing if I can do anything that looks anywhere near the original.....

oh and i was going to say, have a go stanley, portraits are harder to do as the brain trys to tell you what you think you see, sometimes to get your brain NOT to recoginse the subject, try drawing with the picture upside down, that way you will only draw what you see and not what your brain recognises as a face. i would love to see a drawing by you, it doesnt even matter if it doesnt turn out brilliant your fist few times. its so relaxing you can forget everything else thats going on. a great escape!!!! look forward to seeing some of your art work stanley

My problem is that I am up to my knees in editing a book at the moment.....  Always an excuse isn't there.

The sketches on here are truly amazing.  Good on you and congrats to all - talented bunch!

They've also inspired me to try my hand again at pencil sketching - I used to love it, pencil and charcoal were my favourites...thanks all.
I used to draw before my young boys were born and you are right conty it's a great escape - you get absorbed in what you are doing.  Truly relaxing.
