New topic to make it easier to load. I had the last of the Colcanan I made two days ago. It lasted so long because I bought some small Cox's that were never going to tipen so, waste not want not, I pelled them, stewed them down a bit and after draining them popped them in with the colcanan. Bit more seasoning and it was nice....

Sick as a parrott. The weight I lost last week has gone back on and I just don't understand it.  Misty out for a walk then I'm paying an early visit to the gym to take out membership. Nolic

Some good news despite the weight thing. Since Christmas my blood sugar levels have been constantly below 6mm/ol. If it were this level witout meds then I would not be classed as diabetic.
Even better for the past 2 weeks its been either 4.8mm/ol or 4.6mm/ol and today is down to 4.4mm/ol.
Diabetic clinic in early April so I hope the meds will be reduced.

Dining out tonight at the Bay Horse at Fence - grandad's annual treat. I hope the fiush menu is still  good now the place has been done up again. Nolic.

Does that mean you have your own tester? I need to know... Tea yesterday was boiled ham on home made bread. Margaret was pining for good boiled ham so she brought some with her.

Went to visit relatives in Penistone yesterday and went out for lunch in Holmfirth - it was terrible - so we had lasagne out of the freezer on our return.
Good old bangers and mash tonight with onion sauce.

Lightly cooked tuna steaks at the Bay Horse last night plus a couple...ish pints of Old Speckled.

Went to give samples yeterday before clinic appoitment. No sugar trace at all in urine and low blood pressure. Janet , who takes the samples says she did not recognise me at first and that I look much younger!! Must admit don't feel it this morning. Nolic

I know it's not a great consolation but I once got down to eleven amd a half stones and my mother told me I looked terrible! So, no change there then! I'm 14 stone at the moment, half a stone more than I want to be and Margaret says I look wonderful. You can't win Comrade.

My favorite beer never seen it on draught only have it in cans from Sainsbury's, if they don't have Speckled hen I buy Abbot's which is also very good.

Hubby gets his pen, and machine free at the hospital, and lancets and strips on prescription.

Chilli con Carne, baked potatoes and garlic bread tonight.

I shall look into it.... Just for interest really, I'm still convinced they are wrong and I am about as diabetic as Jack!

I suggested that my slim, active and apparently healthy hubby should get tested for diabetes after his father (who had type 2
diabetes, and had been a lorry driver for many years) needed his second leg amputed due to circulation problems. It was really just to reassure Colin, but the next thing we knew the surgery was on the 'phone to call him back in, his sugar levels were over 30mm/ol. Now Colin's levels are well under control with increasing medication, but it is not a disease to take lightly , there is no such thing as mild diabetes. My father in law died from further complications....get yourself a monitor Stanley and make sure you are in control!!
