the snack stop just off the Leeds and Liverpool canal is a lovely small cafe, which is perfect to visit on a boiling summers day, when you are on a long walk down (or up) the canal.

LL is a long piece of water, where exactly is this wonderful nosh house?   Auntie, lets have more detail in your posts as many members are not from the area, let alone from Barlick, and we are all interested in relating to your knowledge of the local area.  Nolic

well behind Victory Park, you walk through The Rolls Royce owned Part of the Park and you should end up on Grenberfeild lane (I forgot how to spell it), when you exit the back of the park there will be a bridge to your left and a hill in the distance to your right, so turn right, ignore the turning to the bridge over the canal, and the first entrance to the Leeds and Liverpool canal, carry on a small distance down the road and there should be a entrance to a small car park over in the corner is The Rest Stop

just to resurrect this post.

the cabin at greenberfield locks , greenberfield car park, bb185su. it is named the lock stop..
the lockstop is now under new management, as from october 2009. the lockstop will be open all year round, (except for adverse snow conditions where access is impossible or dangerous)
opening times,...winter   10.30 till 3.30
                            summer10.30 till  17.00
in exceptionally good weather, 10.30 till 19.00
it is visited by , walkers, cyclist , barges on the way past. and many families on their walks.
the lock stop provides,  hot and cold beverages, hot and cold sandwiches, cakes, biscuits, and ice creams.
there are tables ,seating area outside,(18 seats)   or in inclement weather seating inside (annex) for 6-8 people.  the area is very tranquil and peaceful, and very relaxing sat outside in the fresh air with a nice cup of tea and a cake.
