As there seems to be quite a bit of artistic talent around here, I thought I would start a pencil sketch section .....

right heres what happened. i meet the marquess of bath and had a good ole chat with him for about 30-40 mins, he was very well spoken but was good for a laugh. he said that every woman that i have a romantic encounter with, i should paint and hang them all up the stairs! LOL he said he liked my drawing of the calendar girl, but he didnt buy it as hes too old now for boobs!!! do men ever get too old for boobs??? but i had some fantastic feedback and got photographed with the marquess and photographed with the oldest member of 97 for the newspaper The two main winners that took the prize money were good but i thought there were others there that i prefered but i guess thats what art is all about, we are all different and all have different tastes. but to get 'highly commended' i was very very pleased with, as there were lots of artists that didnt even get hung

I don't think you need any advice on life from that old rake. If it wasn't for his inhertance he'd be rotting in a sqat somewhere, definitley not wired up like the rest of us. Good result.

Well done for the Highly commended..in some ways that's better than winning. I don't think I agree with Cathy about the brighter your star bit, there's pelnty of ol jazz muscians out there who are still burning into their 80's!!

We have regular contributors over 80, ask John Turner (Mixman) and Ted (handlamp) how old they are!

Conor, I've been away on hols so this is my first chance to say I hope you had a great birthday and well done with the drawing and everything. I thought I saw something in those posts about going to Bath to swap a nude lady for an old tent....oh, I see marquess not marquee, now I get it! So you kept your lady but met an old gent.
Don't take Cath's burnt out star too seriously - she's probably planning to go out as a supernova one day!

oh belle, i would of loved to have seen it, please try again
thankyou flutterby, i met jason gardner (gold medalist) the olympic artist and the mayor of bath last night, i was invited to the olympics art night by the olympic artist. had a fab night, got called up the front to hold the olympic torch and to carry it outside and lite it. and was photographed carrying it for the newspaper
i also got asked last night if i would paint a loin..... last year in Bath, 100 models of pigs were painted by different artists, then they are all displayed around the city center and then they are auctioned off. last year the pigs made over 200,000.00. they are hoping the lions will raise even more this year. im still in shock that ive been asked but i am yet to find out who my sponcer is, so i dont know yet how the sponcer wants it painted. the loin is apox4-5 feet high. dont know where im gonna paint that to!! haha the kitchen table perhaps LOL
