Hello again, sorry I have been away so long!
I am still doing the old ancestor research and I found a will from 1739. My 8x great grandfather had 2 besalls, one was wooden and the other brass, iron and hawthorn. My question therefore, if anyone out there knows, what on earth is a Besall? p.s it may be spelled differently to their spelling.

Hi julie, so great to hear form you..i have missed your posts...not sure if elise was giving you the definitive answer or asking a question.. I'll go and have a look anyway guess you have already tried google? Glad you are still doing family research as it may profit me to know some of your info one day, when you get round to sorting through it. (:

Nice to see you still about Jules. I've dragged Ken's old post about inventory terms back up. A useful list which sank without trace in 2004!

Hello Julie, is Norfolk still above water? We're surviving over here in the Somerset Levels but we think we should have a presence at the next big climate change conference like all those Pacific Islands. We would take cider with us as a secret weapon!

The water table is about 5mm below ground level and sounds squelchy. Our secret weapon would be Great Yarmouth. We take it with us to the climate change conference, if we don't get what we want, we will leave it behind.
