I went up Letcliffe today in the sunshine with the birds singing and only a light breeze from the NW to spoil things so I decided you were right and it's probably about time we started to be optimistic.  However.....  have you seen the forecast for Easter?

No 'wind' in this house, two ladies live here, ha ha.

Bought 2 electric heaters today, the one I was able to bring home is positioned about a metre away from me on full on, and just taking the chill off (our cat is laying right in front of it and seems quite happy), not very impressed, the 2nd one which has a fan will be delivered when it's available ... ? Might end up with 2 of the latter? Brrr..

If global warming mangles the gulf stream like they say it might, we'll get the temperatures our latitude deserves, then you can complain about the cold.......  Wink

Just looked up Labrador, they are having unseasonably cold weather same as us.  They can expect 21C usually but it was around 15C last week.  Mind you, this week they get their ration, 21/22C so we'll see what happens to us.

"...have just flicked the Heating on for an hour, what happened to Global Warming ????"

Frank, unfortunately you were conned! The term "global warming" is technically correct and describes the underlying mechanism but it does not accurately describe the effects. Global warming refers to the Earth's average surface temperature which is all to do with climate but nothing much to do with weather. As the Earth heats up the climate is disrupted and the weather is then unpredictable and swings from one extreme to another.

It won't be long and we'll be complaining about a hot spell - just wait and see. But then it'll be back to cold again.

I think we should ask Godron for our money back.
