Because of the grim weather, I have been unable to experiment outside with my shiny new camera, so I have resorted to indoor efforts, using flash and focus................

Well if Jack's mug shot is on here, my Meg insists that I put hers on here too.

There is a theory that pets train up their human friends at least as much as the other way around...especially felines
it's bums that count 'ere; not 'ats |

Thats true ... our feline 'Lady" has at the moment , got me throwing her Magic Mouse (so called because it squeaks) from one room to the other. She finds it, brings it back to me, I throw it again ... etc etc. If the mouse gets lost under furniture, she sits by it, and talks to me to tell me that it's there. She's a clever girl.
All thru the fields and meadows gay .... Enjoy Take Care...Cathy |

Comrade, I think its time Jack and Misty had a run out again. I'll ty and get up Letcliffe later this week - still about 1.30?
You'd better let him know that her heart belongs to another. A large friendly smooth haired lurcher called Mick who tear around like mad idiots when they meet up.

Comrade, 12:30 not 13:30. I go a bit earlier as it give me more time in the afternoon. Mag is Jack's surrogate mother, at 14 years old she rules him with a rod of iron but they never fall out, Jack will always defer to her.
Dogs issue more commands in a day than companion animals. The trick is to tell them what to do when they have it in their head already......

Can I join in too? I haven't got a dog or cat but here's a friend who frightens away the mice!
You've all got wonderful animals - for someone (me) who doesn't know a terrier from a lurcher, what "makes" of dog are they all?

We have 2 cats, Mille (Torty) and Primrose (Ginger Tabby), both females. Millie is a hunter and will bring anything that moves in through the cat flap, present favorites are mice and small birds, the odd bat and and in summer, buzzard moths and the like. Primrose was the runt moggie from a litter of barn cats and you would expect her to be well versed in mousing etc. Not so. Millie is presently trying to train her in the fine arts and she recently brought in a field mouse, perfectly intact and dropped it at Prims feet, it shot off under the vaccum cleaner in the passage at the bottom of the stairs. If the prey is still alive, I try to rescue it if possible, (I figure that if it has survived so far, it deserves another chance). Anyway, Primmy was milling about when I lifted the vac and tried to catch the small rodent (no more than 1" long), the mouse ran straight towards her and guess what? she ran away! Funniest thin I have seen for a long while, it was hillarious. She sat halfway up the stars, fully bushed and did'nt have a clue what to do. After a few mad dashes up and down the passage I managed to grab the little blighter much to the despair of Millie and put it in the hut in the back yard to recover from it's ordeal. I always make a point of praising Mille for her hunting skills and cajole and fuss her as she searches for the missing prey. She soon gets over it and pops out through the flap to get something else to offer to Primrose, It;s a constant game we play at our house. Does make you wonder who is actually in charge though!
One thing I am sure of over 30 years and the numerous cats we have looked after, fed, paid the vet fees for, worried over and loved. You never actually "own" a cat, they just agree to live with you.
