"Explore The Barnoldswick Countryside" - a  book of 10 local circular walks - is now available from members of the Let's Walk and Talk group and selected local shops, including The Council Shop.

Or send me a PM and I'll make sure you get your copies, either delivered by hand or posted. (Please note, any hand deliveries to Australia or anywhere further away than a 3-mile radius of Barlick town centre will have to pay travel costs too :–)

Featuring photography by Kevin Hylands, Steve King and Heather Sheldrick, the 48-page A5 book provides easy-to-read directions and simple maps to help you discover the paths and beautiful countryside that surround Barnoldswick.

Walking is a great way to get fit or relax after a hard week's work so now there's no excuse for being a couch potato!

Priced at just £4, it will make a delightful Christmas present - especially for  Barlickers in Exile - as it pictures our stunning scenery together with short  descriptions of places of interest such as Gill Church and Bancroft Mill.

That's great, Maz. But bear in mind it's a limited print run of 500 and we've already sold (or had orders placed) for over 100. And it was only delivered by the printers yesterday!Go to Top of Page

Now now Herb, I think he's wound up enough! I am the bad guy again, it appears he thinks I've put three journos out of work!

Glad you like it, Andy.

You never know, it might just give you that little nudge to have a go at one of the walks. Why not surprise Wen and take her out with you? Better than watching pap on the telly!

Quite often when people are at a loose end they jump in their cars and go off somewhere for a couple of hours when instead they could be gobsmacked by the splendid views literally on our doorstep.

I've just put the walks book on eBay - might sell a few more copies?

We've sold around 250 so far - and that's without too much pushing. I'm now going to try getting it into outlets beyond Barlick.

Last week my mum's walking group bumped into a family coming the other way who were referring to the book. They made some rather complimentary comments about it - nice to know people are actually using it!

However, it's not showing up in any searches yet. Wonder how long it takes to get into the system?
