It has clouded over now - hope it doesn't rain, the roads will be like glass.

Slow thaw overnight and much snow has gone but what hard packed icy snow is left will be even more hazardous. No long walks yet! Glass still rising but cold weather forecast to return.

Our Grandma used to put tea-leaves on the cobbles so we could get to the main road to get to school. Does anyone make pots of tea anymore??

Fast thaw here, only a few icy patches left, the back road is the worst.

The pavements were even more dangerous yesterday where packed snow was in lumps. Valley Gardens terrible. The thaw has continued all day and night and I think it will be all gone this morning. Might even attempt Letcliffe at dinnertime! Glass showing signs of dropping back towards 29.5" Westerly breeze still bringing in warm Atlantic air, it will get colder when the wind swings to NE as it is forecast to do over the weekend.

Our granddaughter called this morning and said it was registering 7 degrees in her car. There are plenty of clouds about but it is fine.

Jack and I went up to Letcliffe for the first time in over a week. All snow and ice gone but it looks like a frost tonight!

Sharp frost. Anywhere that wasn't salted is sheet ice. Here we go again! Glass is rock steady at 29.5"+ a bad sign.
