I went up Letcliffe today in the sunshine with the birds singing and only a light breeze from the NW to spoil things so I decided you were right and it's probably about time we started to be optimistic. However..... have you seen the forecast for Easter?

Beautiful sunny days with bright blue sky but cold, "stopped the thaw cold", spent the week end in Montreal, mother (94) and an original Barlicker moved into a senior's residence finally and seems content while settling in. The weather just east of Montreal has been brutal with blowing snow, roads closed, but drive back (500kms) was excellent.

We are dry but cold. North of Scotland is forecast to have coldest March day ever today. The snow was no problem in Barlick and had all thawed by nightfall at lower levels. We are due for a bit of a warm-up I hope but I have no doubt it will involve cold rain!

some predictions here are calling for six more weeks of below normal temperatures. Just got in and we are having a good snow fall, not forecast, now snow forecast for Thursday and Sunday (again not forecast before) when will it end? shoots coming up around the house, so at least the tulips/daffodils etc think that spring has sprung.

Clear, bright and cool but not unpleasant. Thankfully the snow went almost as fast as it came. Nolic

Came back from Glen Esk today, plenty of snow about at the higher levels. Looks like this has saved the Glen Shee Ski centre around a 1000 people on the slopes this weekend .

Running a ski slope without snow must be dispiriting... Bitter out at 22:00 last night, feels warmer this morning. Flags are dry.... very little wind.

My eldest daughter and hubby went camping in Wales over the weekend. When they woke up in igloo tent they abandoned ship and came home, after just 48 hours!! Sue

Our neighbourhood has been invaded by thousands of Cockatoos in past weeks....I expect they have been forced into the city by drought conditions North of here. They are a magnificent sight when clouds of them take flight, but I expect they are stripping local trees for food. They are also very noisy. I'm interested to see how long it takes them to leave now that we have had a bit of rain. We had 6 mm......add that to the 1mm we had in January.....positively lush here now!
