Tesco are considering opening a store in Barnoldswick.

They claim it will create 175 jobs and keep shoppers in the town, as well as saving local firm L&P Springs.

There are 2 exhibitions taking place this Friday and Saturday for people to gain more information.

Views, anyone?

Park Road chippy is open at dinnertime and tea time.

I am looking forward to trying the new, eat-in, Indian restaurant.

Yes me too, my lad Jack noticed they have a number of Barlick "specials" and one or two dishes that the other Asian emporiums don't do.

Dont Rolls have a staff canteen?  There are a couple of small suitable places if anyone wants to attempt a midweek cafe  , and I am told on here spar are doing take-away hot snaxs. If the oap centres in town hall and off the square did more lunches this would free up the two/three main cafes for the workers.

I assume that you are reffering to the Civic Hall (former Liberal Club) rather than the Town Hall on Jepp Hill which closed a number of years ago?

Never understood this idea of buying a lunch whilst at work. Homemade "breakfast and dinner" in a tupperware box fare better and cheaper. Nolic

It's always amazed me that a bloke like me who lived off butties for years still likes them..... I used to feel sorry for Vera trying to come up with different fillings for me. She never told me what was in the next day's box and I never asked, it was always a surprise, sometimes a pleasant one! Every now and again she'd just give me jam or marmalade butties and they were a nice change. I think my all time favourite was egg and cress mashed up with Heinz Salad Cream....
