Description: The back of the photo says: "Gisburne Station & Station Master’s House. June 1903" Robinson Norcross (my GG Grandfather) was Station Master in Gisburne from about 1880 to 1913.

The reason for the ornate build of the house and the rustic overpass is that the owners of Gisburn Park would only allow the railway to cut across their drive if it was buried and built to their specification.
