Jacob was Innkeeper at the Craven Heifer, Kelbrook shown on the 1891 and 1901 Census. In 1902 he moved with his family to the Anchor Inn, Gargrave where he died in 1906. His wife, Margaret nee Wilkinson grew up at Old Cote Farm, Thornton in Craven. She took over the licence of the Anchor Inn, Gargrave and remained there until her death in 1924.
