The cutlookler in the warehouse at Bancroft inspecting cloth as it passes over the table of the cloth plaiting machine. He is looking for faults in the cloth which can be traced back to the weaver by their number on the piece. There is a Tru-meter cloth measuring device on the machine and this measures the exact length as well. In the old days of the industry the cut looker was feared by the weavers. In the latter days the weavers were scarcer and his role bbecame quality control and packing. Any serious disciplinary matters would be dealt with by the weaving manager.
