I've been thinking of starting this topic for a while.  Let's see how it goes....

Asked if he was in charge of the nation, in the absence of the Prime Minister -
Mr Clegg told Metro: ‘Yeah, I suppose I am. I forgot about that.

David, I used the word so it included animals. 'Someone' would have excluded them.

Note - if you go to the wedding, and bump into the Queen....from the Daily Mirror

"In conversation you address her as Ma’am, to rhyme with jam or ham, not palm.”

For Stanley on the completion of his transcribing......
Friedrich Engels:  The condition of the Working-Class in England in 1844

"As voluntary productive activity is the highest enjoyment known to us, so is compulsory toil the most cruel degrading punishment"

Thomas Paine's "Age of Reason" should be compulsory  reading in all schools.

He was a remarkable man. His life story is fascinating.

Cats - we finally are in complete agreement!    His biography would make a great film.  I think I heard someone is trying to make it happen.

A thought rather than a quote...I heard them on the radio discussing Andrew Marr having dropped his superinjunction over his affair with another journalist. Apparently he took out the injunction to protect his family and the other journalist from media attention. If he is concerned about that, shouldn't he have thought about it *before* he had an affair? (We have to thank Ian Hislop and Private Eye for making him change his mind about the injunction.)

    " Here's that £50 I owe you "

-Being the punch line of an old Bernard Manning gag -  when Abey realised that he and Hymie were about to be mugged.   Can be used on all sorts of occasions.
