More pics from the archive. Filling in some of the smaller streets around the town centre. Enjoy...

Snow at night in King Street in 1982. I took this pic the night before I had to drive Mary to Heathrow to catch her plane for Australia. She was two hours late, it was a very close run thing and an interesting drive down the country. The funny thing was that I had her car and when two of her friends turned up for it the following morning the clutch cable broke as they tried to drive away. It must have been hanging on by one wire the day before. There is a providence that looks after drunken men and idiots!

Comrade, caption on pic of The Nook in 1979, you think it was still BUDC offices. BUDC went as Barlick  was moved into Lancashire in 1974. I've had a glass to the picture and a sign in the updstairs window says Citizen's Advice Bureau. Great pics especially the one of the snow. Nolic

A gathering on Jepp Hill in the 1920s? Looks like part of the Whit Walks. Lots of interest on the picture. My favourite is the small sentry box on the wall. This was a board for laying out a dead body on before rigor mortis set in and was provided by the St John's Ambulance.
