I came across a harbour picture that I took on our recent holiday today, and I keep meaning to email it to Stanley. It had the most unbelievably blue water and was just a magical place. (We decided we really could live there...)

Where exactly was the picture taken Maz? The steamer with its lovely old-fashioned funnel is nostalgic - did you sail on it?

It was taken in the South Islad...Queenstown. Such a beautiful spot that we spent 3 days there. We fell in love with the place and both agreed it would be a fabulous place to live. This wharf, with all it's board walks, cafes, pubs and beautiful views is just a street or so away from the shopping area. Queenstown also has a Gondola (like Matlock in UK) which we took to the top of the mountain. For the more adventurous, there is bungee jumping and para-sailing. But it is not all touristy and annoying. It has lovely public gardens and some old buildings too. We walked everywhere and explored every corner of the place. Shopping hours there are 10am until 7pm. At night all the cafes have chairs outside and people linger until late.
The steamer was beautiful. I thought it may be a paddle steamer at first and walked down to have a look...no paddle wheel. We didn't go on this one, though we did a few harbour cruises.
The water really is that colour too, and so clear you can see right down into it.

I may have a go at a drawing whilst I am sitting recuperating to day from a two day bout of gastric bug! What a way to spend a trip to france, I should be out there clearing the garden ready fro the spring growth spurt that is about to start here

Lovely clear picture Maz, I am begining to realise you lot are all landscape enthusiasts, whereas I prefer people and still life...anyone out there interested in doing something other than landscape for a change?

So you want me to get this weeks fruit and veg into a pile and take a pic for you?
Only joking....
I seem to have so much to do lately, that I'm finding it difficult to find some 'ME TIME'. Guests for tea tonight, so there goes this afternoon. Tomorrow is looking good though...fingers crossed...

I have got three pairs of glasses today !so now havent a n excuse for  not carrying  on painting . Isaw the eye specialist who told me both eyes have been affected by my last mini stroke. which was a shock to me.
Its  made me appreciate the vision I now have and I hope to regain my creativity.
1 pair  of long sighted and  2short sighted pairs for reading and art work.
