As there seems to be quite a bit of artistic talent around here, I thought I would start a pencil sketch section .....

if only i had the money to back up that venture!! id do it. what i dont get is why does the government let the insurance companies do these prices when the prices are what is causing the young drivers to drive with no insurance? i may be 16 but its a no brainer!
buy a banger for £100 and drive with no insurance (saving £2500) and if you get caught. its a £200 fine and your car gets scrapped! duh!! total cost £300... if i can figure it out why hasnt the police or government. are they thick or just stupied! where is the deterent to drive with no insurance?? there is none so why bother?
in my case...... i dont want to break the law. but i am paying the price for my honesty. isnt that the wrong way round? make the ones who break the law pay
nolic.. hehe thanks for that!

There is of course the small matter of a criminal record, the even greater problems with insurance if you try to go legal and the driving bans following points on licence. Not worth it Conor!
Take heart about the pain after shovelling a small amount. What you are doing is stressing your skeletal structure and it reacts well at your age by making bone mass to withstand the stress. If you do enough this bone mass builds to the point where you don't lose it with age. The increased mass means more bone marrow and this is one of the main precursors for an efficient immune system. The muscle increase can disperse when the exercise levels fall but the bone remains as an insurance policy. I was lucky, I had jobs in my youth where I worked like a horse and ate like one as well. Even now medical people express surprise at my weight in comparison to my size, it's down to bone mass laid down all those years ago. Think about that when you're aching, within reason it is very good for you.

Cath, they've taken the engine out and replaced it with big pedals under the bonnet so he can keep in good feckle while motoring and saving on fuel costs!

Good training carrying concrete blocks. Make sure you wear gloves.

Conor, in the days when my beard was black and I was working for the dairy picking milk up and shifting wire crates of bottles there were no industrial gloves and we had hands like leather, big cracks on the joints in winter and I wondered at the time if they would ever heal. The good news is that the body is a wonderful thing, I have hands like a pianist (well, nearly!) these days so don't worry about it, they recover even if they get in a right mess.

There is a way to quicken your hands hardening up Conor that I was told by afarmer when haymaking and I understand was used by builders - urinate on them on a regular basis!! Nolic

You are going to have to increase your prices Conor - a 7 year old is selling his paintings for thousands (today's Daily Mail). His parents are going to buy him a house and invest the rest until he is 25.
