I will have to look into that Belle, I would have imagined that it would be particularly useful for putting in the highlights at the end of painting..

On our news this afternoon there was a story about a Keiron Williamson, he lives in Norfolk and is 7yrs old. Keiron is a painter and all his exhibitions sell-out very quickly. Apparently he has thousands of hopeful buyers on is waiting list. I think he must have a website, probably his name then co.uk ?? Beautiful paintings.

Saw an article about this lad a few weeks since, he is very good but I got the impression that his parents were being a little bit too pushy.....

Robin, the same thought occurred to me. I've known some very damaged people caused by parents trying to overlay their aspirations of their kids. Can be selfish and destructive and almost a form of abuse, I hope he isn't a victim.

Mmm I was surprised at the maturity of his art, perhaps he is on the autistic spectrum and able to memorise and copy very well. Whose art is he copying I wonder? I would be astonished if these were purely out of his own brain.

I don't mean to imply that he is cheating.. just that he might be recreating art he has seen.

Belle, I feel exactly the same as you. My crap detector is whining and it's never let me down yet! There is something very strange about a body of work that large from a child so young.

The kid paints in the style of Charles Evans and Alwyn Crawshaw - both of whom foillow Turner - big skies and both write art instruction books so that may be where he's developed from. Nolic

In Keirons interview he said that he gets top marks in most of his school subjects. They showed him painting a picture while being interviewed and at the end of it they said it only took him 20 minutes, and mentioned a price of €15,000. Hope his parents are investing his money wisely.

Sounds very much like there is involvement with an upmarket London Gallery. £15k for a painting that takes 15minutes to produce.......... I have to say that it has a whiff of the Emperors Clothes.
The only justification for paying that kind of money is as an "investment". Mind you, look at Damian Hirst and his so called art.
Anyone fancy a millscape?? only £25K
