Marilyn-Wet on wet- You really have to use thick watercolourpaper, tube paint is slightly thicker, which i prefer, Wet the paper with a spongefor a large area say you were doing a small area check that a shine has then appeared and with a  fully loaded brush with the paint not too thin ,then just put the tip  of the brush into the wetness. The paint will float across on its own. Look  at the tube and it will tell you about whether its granulated colour which are good for wet in wet, all tubes and pigments have their different ways of performance.Ultramarine  is a good one for granulation, as an example. Keep your water clean , change after each colour you use.

Sue- Look out for these if you are in France- Louve  Paints- I had some given to me they are in tubesand are excellent bright colours with good granulation . I have looked on e-bay but havent seen any here. . The ulramarine beats any ive used for granulation !

Well this thead no 2 started , when i couldnt reply to no 1 . I must have not been doing things right . It seems that i have not continued to mention painting at all. I havent been well again feeling tired out , but a little  better today. Now i have a pain in  the back of my left leg which i will get checked out before i return to work.  Cathy,  after reading about your  daughter moving out, i was reminded of my son . The empty nest syndrome. He was twenty four a late starter for University. He didnt know how to use  a washing machine, lived on pitza,s and peanut butter sandwiches. Two years on he,s fine more independent eating better, working and best of all happy! They soon grow up !

Yes they do grow very quickly, a few blinks and suddenly their 21 and gone ...  I was hanging out a last load of washing yesterday and all I could see on the line was her baby clothes in my mind ... oh dear.  Today I handed her a bag of her washing (things left behind) to take home when she picked me up to go to her new home for tea.  She's certainly more independant and confident than I ever was, which is a good thing of course.  She has had a lot of help from many quarters to gather everything she needs and settle in.

Hope your feeling better very soon Flutterby.
