Who needs to read comic books?  My grand kids are now starting to read some of the posts!  I have to explain to them that this is not the way that adult discussion takes place.

Tripps, One to add to your list - a Chinese businessman is one of those trying to buy our `old' aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious! That might sound funny but the Chinese have already converted one of their own old carriers to develop a new missile system which is designed to target carriers specifically. What is ironic is this - decades ago one of our governing politicians said we should get rid of aircraft carriers because they were too easy to sink with a land-based, long distance guided missile. He was told by the military that was rubbish and we kept the carriers. I wonder whether the knowledge of what China was developing now was taken into account in the decision about the current carriers?

I would agree Stanley it does look like his superiors failed in their duty, but we don't know what he was telling them??
I stand by anything I have said in this thread.
I think the Police Officer involved was weak, he even became involved with a female ptotester etc Is that why he chucked it all in I wonder??.
I believe the Police are doing an Excellent job in very difficult circumstances, trying to defend our civil liberties from all these protest groups who are just on ego trips. These are full time actavists, if you look at Tripps post earlier you will see the Chinese are really into "Saving the Planet"
No One can save the Planet without influencing the Chinese or the Pakistan/Indian Goverments so they are just wasting their time and our Police Resources which I feel could be put to a much better use.
I wonder why I feel surrounded by Old Age Hippies !!!!

What did catch my attention was when it was pointed out that inflation continues to rise, and the BoE Policy Committee are unable to control it.

Frank with you on the police, my attention this morning was caught by the news, a Toronto police officer, 35 years old, an 11 year veteran, married with a young son was killed by what seems like a drug crazed nutbar driving a stolen snow plow.  The nutbar went on a rampage hitting several cars, crashed into a Ferrari dealership and continued on his way.  He finally struck the police car and then the officer.  The boys in blue never know when they will "not be home for dinner!"  GOD BLESS.

Well,  the good thing about Wikipedia is that it is constantly being editted /corrected by a massive number of contributors......If you disagree with anything published you can correct it...

So have a go , if you honestly believe that the Six individuals , who we have recently been talking about, were arrested whilest breaking into Ratcliffe Power Station , present your evidence.....

How many people that drive vehicles do? (Even if they are childless.)

Tiz, I saw the same report about the aircraft carrier. Makes you wonder.....

Herb, really? It may be just how some adults behave.

Just got back in Kev from the morning inspection and yes, I don't know what for. Butts is littered with broken glass, dog muck bin ripped out, a large section of Briggs and Duxbury's fence brolen down, Larch Lap panels ripped off a private garden and a large wire-reinfoced window to the office smashed in, a big hole in it. God knows what the thrill is.

On a brighter note, remember the demolition of the carpet shop frontage in Newtown? Work has started on the replacement frontage.

Excellent. I thought I saw some work going on there yesterday. Hopefully today's weather won't hinder them too much...
