I took a photo of the site of The Haywain when we were in Suffolk - there is much more water than when Constable painted it. I wondered if you would like me to get Stanley to put it on site and it could be painted with your own interpretation of what is on/in the water.

No problem Sue, which one is the baptist chapel, not sure I'm thinking of the right one. If we say 11am, we are in a black landrover freelander.....
Moh, that would be very interesting to see and create a new version......

Baptist Chapel is on the right hand side as you drive down towards Water and Lumb from Crown Point on Burnley Road east . It is quite a big Chapel with a cemetery and I think it has a car park also.

Thanks Moh and Stanley, not changed that much from the time of Constable.
Will have a go at painting that as soon as I can, perhaps it could be our next painting project??

Nice picture moh. That's almost the view that Constable painted of Willy Lotts cottage. The Haywain was painted with Constable sighted further left with the view panned further right showing both sides of the river and fields to the right. Constable painted the same location over and over again form slightly differing positions. He must have painted Denham church at least 50 times.Nolic

It is a lovely place apart from trying to park!!! I took quite a few different views. I think Willie Lott was 84 when he died and had only spent about 4 nights away from his cottage.

Didn't he paint "flaxford mill" and isn't that the building in the picture?

Flatford Mill is close by I believe - moh will correct me but the building in the picture is definitely Willy Lotts cottage. Nolic
