It's photoshopped, but still pretty amazing.

Ben, linking pics from other sites is not a good thing because it often fails to work and imposes more load on our server. Far better to download the image and submit as a pic in our archive and then paste to a posting. Respect copyright laws though.......

Truly amazing pic's. Thanks. I think the photographers are amazing too, to be able to capture the scene at just the right moment...must take a lot of patience. ![](images/smilies/smile-2.gif)

Absolutely fantastic pics. I loved the one of the container ship going into the storm, you could feel the weather.

Technically the reason your picture doesn't work, is that the link is to a page containing an image and not to the image itself. The forum script (or more correctly the readers browser interpreting the forum script) expects it just to be an image, the website itself (airliner.net) doesn't actually link directly to the image so it would need to be copied off onto another server. Not something I'd do with all the warnings all over the place :D
Sorry, Stanley, have to correct you on the external links thing. The pictures being externally hosted doesn't put any extra load on the forum's server. The forum just sends the link to the users browser (and it doesn't treat it any different to the posting text) and the user's browser pulls the picture from the other server. Hosting the picture here increases the load as it has to dish up the picture as well as the dynamic html link.
Most of the load on a forum's server is pulling the posts from the SQL database and assembing the dynamic pages from the forum script. The slowness the board sometimes suffers from is the server getting bogged down, likely as not from the other sites hosted on the same box. The temptation with hosting is to stretch it as far as it will go by putting as many customers on a server as possible, makes the hosting company more money, but does nothing for the sites performance.
I dread to think what my site would be like if I ran a forum or any serious dynamic content on it. The bunch of crooks that host it really do stretch the band taught.
You pays your money and you takes your choice, mine was cheap, too cheap.......

I understand about half of that!
Anyway I've edited it back into a url so people can just click on the link. I'm accustomed to posting pics easily on Land Rover Addict where they host all kinds of shots of vehicles, technical stuff, etc. and where I waste a lot of time.

![Leaning loo The leaning loo of Westonzoyland](files/pictures/16/122/20080109134452_1994_1.JPG) Here comes the leaning loo of Westonzoyland - hold onto your seatbelts!
I guess this doesn't quite match up to the preceding images but it's "one I made earlier" and didn't know where else in the forum to post it without starting yet another thread! It's at the Westonzoyland Pumping Station Museum in Westonzoyland, Somerset, UK. http://www.wzlet.org/
It is Somerset's earliest steam-powered pumping station (built 1830), now a small museum displaying stationary steam engines and exhibits of land drainage history. Pride of place goes to the station's pumping engine, the Easton and Amos, which is still in the main engine house. It was built in 1861 to replace an earlier engine that had been carrying out the pumping work since 1831. Other exhibits include a Wills engine, Lancashire boiler, the original forge and a Lister diesel generating plant.
