It started to snow at about 6am this morning and went on for a couple of hours. It's made walking slightly easier...for now anyway. We also had lethal ice yesterday. Dog only got a short walk.

Monti is getting used to the snow, not that he has much choice!

It's just started hailing

We had a fall of snow over night, but now we have a clear blue sky and sunshine.  Glass has risen again to 29.6.

Some rain overnight has brought a slightly cooler day, but the forecast says we are climbing a few degrees every day this week....Christmas Day expected to be about 35 degrees. (joy)

I was in Port Isaac today ....and there was plenty of "weather" coming in off the Atlantic

..... in the space of about an hour , the sea changed in colour from grey, to brown , then purple and green, light blue and back again...Just amazing !

Mild night here now .

Ice on pavements stopped proper walks again yesterday. Bummer. Where is the milder weather they promised us? Glass steady on 29", flags damp but it's not actually raining. Might be a touch warmer but not much.

Just back from walking round the town and it's deadly! The rain is slowly thawing the ice but under it there is lots of ice still there and it is terrible. I goit half way up the slight slope into Valley Gardens and had to stop while I slid slowly down the slope. Even Jack was slipping and he's four wheel drive. Back home safe and very glad. If you're out there this morning be very careful (The Co-op car park is so slippy as to be impossible to stand on, water lubricated ice!)

I'm OK Cathy thanks, never fell but took great care. Better at dinnertime, walked up to Letcliffe but still odd ice patches and snow lying up there.

Clear sky this morning, damp, glass steady on 29". We are promised a westerly wind and slightly warmer for a couple of days, then a cold snap but warming up again towards the end of the week.

Raining off and on. Most of the ice now gone. It was quite windy during the night, the gate blew open and woke me at 3am!

Sounds like my side gate Mel.  The sound of metal on metal (right behind my sleepy head)  is not nice.  I have stuffed some sponges wrapped in a small towel inbetween the gate and side frame.  Aaah Peace.

Supposed to be milder, but I think it is still cold.  Glass has not moved from 29.6

Light rain yesterday but no ice. Letcliffe still frozen but safer. Glass steady on 29" and gentle rain outside. Is today the shortest day? It was dark at 15.45 in Barlick yesterday. (Looked it up, it's tomorrow)

You're right Moh, I had added a day! Much warner yesterday but persistent mizzle and low cloud. No view at all from Letcliffe. glass has risen to 29.3", damp and mizzly outside. Looks like a re-run of yesterday.
