A couple of inches of snow here and dawn revealed chaos on the road. Why do people continue to head for the moorland route to Skipton when it is snowing? Most vehicles have got away now but it is still very slippy out there!

We had about an inch but quite a lot on the top road to Colne.  Glass steady on 29. (Nice to see the Christmas background)

Very cold and treacherous out there yesterday morning, both paths and roads. Coucil caught out, no salting done, a bad start for the season. Not a lot of improvement at dinnertime, cold wet rai showers so Letcliffe was crubbed.

Glass falling this morning, almost back down at 28" and funnily enough, like yesterday, the back yard was dry when I forst went ot at 04:00 but just starting to spot with rain. It is now light snow so my interpretation is a rerun of yesterday.

Horrendous storm here in Brittany last night. It was battering the house for hours. A quick circuit of the property this morning revealed two corrugated iron panels had blown off the barn roof. How they missed the car I do not know. Half a laburnum tree is down ( it was looking a bit ill last summer anyway) Otherwise all is sound. Phew!!

I kept worrying about my Dads house all night. We can't get over there to check it till next Thursday.

Temperatures here are about 8C, but it has been up to 12C

We did not have the storm here Sue - don't worry.  No promised snow either, thank goodness.

We have snow...it's coming down quite heavy at the moment and sticking.

Monty doesn't like it. Quercy wants to stay outside and play in it, always has but he was straight back through the door. Also gave me a slight toilet training problem. He's been brilliant up until now but he obviously doesn't like the cold...I found a deposit up a corner. Sent him outside with a flea in his ear!

Better than a big lurcher with sever diahroeah during the night!

Very treacherous under foot yesterday, still isolated ice patches at Noon. Went up Letcliffe and snow still lying there.

Light covering of snow and very cold this morning. Glass has risen to 28.7" Light rain at the moment and no wind to speak of. Has the wind swung into the West?

As the Starks say in Game of Thrones, "Winter is Coming". Glad our winters only last a few months - theirs last for years!! Nolic

Our temp overnight was 27C, not the most comfortable.  Wet and windy today with thunder, much the same for Sunday and we've been told to expect quite a storm too with 25C so it could be muggy.  Quite strange so close to Christmas.

All thru the fields and meadows gay  ....  Enjoy

Our glass has risen to 29.2.  Bright and sunny all round at the moment but we are under a large grey cloud.

I scrubbed Letcliffe yesterday, weather bright enough but pavements in town were very slippy with frozen snow, Letcliffe would have been too dangerous.

Glass has risen to 29", dry and cold outside. No frost so I'm hoping conditions under foot will be better. A young man I know slipped and almost fell in the back street at dinnertime as Jack and I were setting off out to see if Letcliffe was on. I told him that it was Old Farts like me who did the falling!  Shows how bad it was.

We too have had some ice this winter, enough to trip up 3 cars in a 4 mile stretch on a (fairly) major road. I didn't feel too bad about the steady pace I was taking. Funnily enough we were going to get new tyres fitted, 2nd occasion husband has purchased these as birthday presents. Thank you Steve, you value me over frivolity.

Good tyres are always a sensible move Jules. Nice to see you up and about with me. Should be slightly better this morning.
