Broederstroom, near Pretoria, South Africa. Former nuclear research laboratory - this is about half of the stacks on the site.

Waterval UG2 Concentrator Plant - smelter stack, Rustenburg.

Impala Platinum Mine, No. 16 Shaft, 103 metre high concrete headframe. Rustenburg, South Africa.

Hi Rockdrill,

Interesting pictures. Are the stacks built of steel or concrete?

All the ones in the pictures are concrete.

I've spotted a few nice examples of brick built stacks down there, but not had a chance to get pictures yet.
