Last of the Summer Wine was probably one of the best series ever put out by Aunty. It was streets ahead of Open All Hours and Hyacinth Bucket, despite them all coming from the same writer, and they were head and shoulders above ant opposition.
I reckon Roy Clark should have a Knighthood. He has given us some of the finest television and yet has had very little recognition. I think in LoSW the plots were merely devices to carry the brilliant dialogue and that is the major asset of Roy Clark. He is up there just above Eddie Braben, who should also be Knighted.
Every silver lining has a cloud.

I seem to remember reading about it or hearing about it that The Bill ends here in October ...... I enjoy watching it but, as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end.
