Here's a photo of me and E after the 2005 Race For Life at Broughton Hall, Skipton. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day - such a marvellous atmosphere. I would recommend it to anyone. I raised over £600, but haven't done it for a couple of years as people were starting to avoid me in case I tapped them for sponsorship! As I don't 'Do' running, I walked at a brisk pace and completed the 3 miles in 40 minutes, so if anyone is a bit reticent about the effort involved - don't be! Lots of women walked it and were able to appreciate the great scenery while they were at it. Organisations like Cancer Research need money to continue their work, and the RFL is a great way to help them.

Good Luck, everyone. Unfortunately we can't make it to the event this year but we'll be there in spirit. You'll have a fantastic time. |

My granddaughter Kelly has just come 4th in the Burnley race for life - not bad for a 29 year old mother of two little girls aged 3 and 1. She was running for her mother who died from breast cancer in 2001

It doesn't matter much which way around it's done Moh, as long as she is happy.

Race for Life - Broughton Hall - Sunday 11th May 11.00 event.
Sally, pensive before the start.
Daughter Carla and friend Marlene.
Laura, son Dan's partner, with Sally after the race.
Well done to all the girls who took part , a fantastic day for it today, over 2000 ladies started the first race at 11.00 this morning. If the afternoon 15.00 session was as well populated they should have raised quite a few bob for the charity. Lots more events around the country through May and June, please support.

My wife Wendy and daughter Victoria took part today. I'm very proud of them both, they lost a dad/grandad to that awful desease. I lost a sister.
Reading the messages on the runners backs really brings it home to me, so many people affected.
Well done everyone, Andy.
