Pendle

Was Pendle better off in the 1950s 60s and early 1970s when we had Burnley rural council Barrowford rural council and Brierfield Nelson Colne and Barnoldswick councils.

We had our own Highways departments, Cleansing departments, Housing departments and Health departments and the rest all run by our own Town halls and local councillors.

Where the men and woman on the said departments had local knowledge and expertises of the area

Unlike today when everything is subcontracted out.
